Will my oncidium orchid bloom for a 2nd time this year?
I bought and oncidium orchid this year at an outside arts & crafts show and LOVED it. It bloomed so pretty and then because I needed to re-pot it, all the blooms dried up and fell off. Now I have re-potted the plant and I am wondering, since it looks like it is thriving off the new environment, will it bloom again?
Oncidiums flower once a year. You should always wait until the plant is done blooming to re pot. Oncidiums need a lot of light, water and humidity to flower and are typically difficult to grow in the home. If the foliage becomes dark green then it is not getting enough light. Limey green foliage is a sign of good health and adequate light. South facing windows are best for Oncidiums.
